Jeff's Fun Notice 1/26/12

Hello Fun Seekers,
Had we known that this was what winter had in store for us, we could have arranged for concerts at The Liberty Park Amphitheater all winter long. Oh Well. I guess we can wait for next summer. After all there are many great indoor venues offering up great music until then. Not musically related but a great event this weekend is Sarah Reed Children's Center's Souper Bowl (see attachment) this Sunday at the Shrine Club, 38th and Zuck. It is very well attended with lots of our friends enjoying chatting and having lots of great soups. I bet we could get Vern to sing a tune and have Sandy give us a dance to complete the afternoon. Lets see what else is happening this weekend.
FRIDAY--- For a very early start you might want to head out to The Travelodge where Carl Hultman and Barb start playing at 5:30. After a quick visit and on your way to downtown make another quick stop at The Bullfrog Bar where Dollar Bill and the Spare Change start at 6:00. Just before you complete your journey to The District you may want to consider dinner at Pie In The Sky accompanied by Tom Hitt. If you want the one stop does all treatment try Matthew's Trattoria with Frank Singer and Jim Lynch. Then with a short walk you can continue your jazz and blues evening at The Baybreeze Lounge with Swagg (8:00), around the corner to The Crooked I with The Rodger Montgomery Blues Band and then a couple of doors down The Vermont Tavern presents Blue Diamond (9:30). With only 4 more blocks to walk you will be back at Matthew's for a night cap. Isn't it amazing how much music and fun you can squeeze into a 3/4 mile walk. But if you wanted to end up in The West Village I might suggest Shally 'n' the Riffriders at the Last Shot. (9-1).
SATURDAY--- For dinner tonight lets try Alto Cucina and be entertained by Sam Hyman. Or if your looking for something different Tom Hitt is playing for the dinner crowd at Casablanca Grill (6:30). Also I think Kristen and the Cosmonauts are playing a benefit at The Saga Club from 5:30 to 7:30. Later you can find String Theory at The Last Shot or in from Ann Arbor, MI at The Crooked I is Dragon Wagon. They should get your feet moving. But if you did not get enough blues last night take a trip out to The Sprague Farm in Venango for The Max Schang Band.
SUNDAY--- Don't forget the SOUPER BOWL.
MONDAY--- As though you did not have enough fun over the weekend Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience is back at The Vermont Tavern. These guys are just down right fun.
WEDNESDAY--- It is a Bobby's Place Wednesday with Marty O'Connor and Friends. I know he has friends at the Food Bank anyway. See you there.
